Veterans (Silent Witnesses), 1916, etching
Veterans (Silent Witnesses) was based on a drawing of fifteenth and sixteenth-century houses in Liseaux, France. Arms trained as an architectural draftsman, and many of his works portray old, picturesque buildings. Done during World War I, the title may refer to the buildings as silent witnesses to the horrors around them.
