Art Up Close: "Zephyr" is by pioneering feminist artist Miriam Schapiro. It is one of Schapiro's "femmages"-- works that combine women's arts and materials to create collages. Using stencils, paint, and bits of fabric, her abstract composition evokes traditionally feminine crafts like lacemaking and embroidery.
