Name/Title

1939-1945 - WW2 German Army (Werhmacht) NCO Peak Cap - Possibly a 1936 manufactured green and black with white trim 'waffenfarbe' (to indicate infantry) - Aluminum insignia

Description

*** MUST PHOTO MAKER MARK UNDER SWEATBAND ** EXTERIOR AND INSIGNIA Made of whip cord and Vulcan fiber peak material with white' WaffenFarbe' for Infantry. All insignia are aluminum, and all German WW2 Caps and helmets bore two common insignia elements, in various forms: the National Emblem and the national colors. World War I caps had carried dual cockades or roundels, one in Imperial black-white-red and one in the colors of the particular State within the Empire. The Reichswehr changed this to a single cockade in the Weimar Republic's black, red and gold; almost as soon as Hitler took power, he restored the pre-1919 tricolor flag, and ordered the Army to return to black-white-red. LINER Cotton liner ink size stamped 58. Maker marked and dated under sweatband - Possibly J.Deneke, Burgdorf, Hahn 1936. In Very Good Condition.
