Name/Title

1939/45 - GERMANY - WW2 Original S84/98 model Bayonet leather scabbard - Used during WW2 and most likely a captured artifact

Description

This is an original German S84/98 model bayonet used during WW2 and was most likely a captured artifact. Made in 1942 by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co. of Solingen. The blade and scabbard are marked with the Letter Code, as was customary from 1940–1945. This example has wood grips. According to M1884/98 researcher Andrej 'Andy' Blazicek, the serial number suffix is an "D". WKC used a special German Sutterlin font which is difficult to decipher.
