Context

The association between teh 60th. and 87th. Bns. was that after Vimy, it was decided that there were too many CEF bns. (a total of 7 in the Canadian Corps) in the field than could be supported by voluntary recruiting from Montreal. So, two of these bns. were axed, including the 60th. Bn. Most of the survivors of the 60th. were amalgamated into the 87th. BN. While the 60th. was designated a Victoria Rifles of Canada Bn., the veterans of the 60th. decided to form a Veterans Accusation in partnership with the 87th. veterans to reflect this amalgamation of their "lost" bn. So, our veterans' organization was ever after known as the 6087 Association. Incidentally, there is another linkage with the CGG. The 60th. Bn. while nominally a VRC Bn. was actually made up in its original formation by roughly equal contingents from 4 sperate militia regiments, one of which was CGG, who contributed a full rifle copy each of the original 60th. Bn. volunteers.
