Context

on December 14, 1995, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia signed the Dayton Accords. This agreement was the result of intense negotiations held at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. It created a framework for peace enforced by multinational NATO forces. An Implementation Force (IFOR) began operations in 1995, replaced by the Stabilization Force (SFOR) in 1996. Canadian soldiers posted to SFOR used this Cougar armoured vehicle to enforce the peace agreement in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
