Context

Many Canadian Grenadier Guards - including John Francis Young, VC were employed by the Canadian Imperial Tobacco Company prior to the outbreak of both WW1 and WW2. Imperial Tobacco Company of Canada Ltd. was created out of the cigarette companies founded by Bartholome Houde (acquired by American Tobacco Company in 1908) and George E. Tuckett (Acquired by Imperial Tobacco Company in 1930).
