The feeding trough was used to hold the feed of Sarah Knowlton's (1767-1845) favourite horses. Sarah was from Darley Dale, Derbyshire, England, but got into communication with Paul Holland Knowlton (1787-1863) after reading about his bravery during the 1837 Lower Canada Rebellion. Sarah claimed to be a relative of Paul, and the two remained in contact. After Sarah died in 1845, Paul Holland Knowlton inherited many of her possessions, including this feeding trough. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cette cuve à nourriture était utilisée pour contenir la nourriture des chevaux favoris de Sarah Knowlton (1767-1845).
