Reds and browns predominate in this little impression of a Brome Lake inlet. The river flows from the turn at left and coming towards the viewer finds its way soon to the lake. A gleam of sunlight has fallen on the woods at right and too, over the decorative birch tree. Bright red trees in the background partially hide the bluish-green Bolton Mountains. A typical October day.

Les rouges et les bruns prédominent dans cette petite esquisse représentant un bras du lac Brome. La rivière, qui prend son élan à gauche, se dirige vers le spectateur avant de se jeter rapidement dans le lac. Un rayon de soleil illumine les bois à droite ainsi que le bouleau décoratif. Les arbres d'un rouge vif à l'arrière-plan masquent en partie les montagnes Bolton, aux teintes bleu-vert. Une journée typique d'octobre.
