This cupboard was a wedding gift to Catherine Ruiter Heath (1784-1884) from her father, Col. Henry Ruiter (1739-1819), in 1806. Legend has it that on the night of her wedding to David Heath (1782-1839), Katie hid in the cupboard to avoid being subjected to the custom of being escorted to the bedroom by rowdy guests. - - - - Ce placard fut offert en cadeau de mariage à Catherine Ruiter Heath (1784-1884) par son père, le colonel Henry Ruiter (1739-1819), en 1806.
