Painting of a village halfway up a hill. View from the bottom of the hill. Scattered red and brown houses and churches surrounded by green trees and grass. Just outside the town, there appears to be a military camp, consisting of tents and people standing in formation. The gradient green gradually becomes blue as one goes to the top of the mountain. - - - Peinture représentant un village situé à mi-hauteur d'une colline. Vue depuis le pied de la colline. Des maisons et des églises rouges et brunes éparpillées, entourées d'arbres verts et de végétation. Juste à la sortie du village, on distingue ce qui semble être un camp militaire, composé de tentes et de personnes alignées en formation. This painting is of the village of Frelighsburgh, QC, at the time of the 1870 Fenian Raid. It was painted by Robert McCorkill (1822-1874), who was the Captain of the 60th Battalion Missisquoi Company and fought in the 1870 Fenian Raid during the battle of Eccles Hill. - - - Ce tableau représente le village de Frelighsburgh, au Québec, en 1870.
