Block Truck Marx, New York City, NY Circa 1940s Pressed steel stake bed “Block Truck” made by Louis Marx & Company. Louis Marx and his brother David created Louis Marx & Company in 1919. The Marx brothers believed there were six qualities “needed for a successful toy: familiarity, surprise, skill, play value, comprehensibility and sturdiness.”
