Note
axe at one end, walking pike at the other end
Designed for walking, or climbing, on snow and ice, this versatile tool was a standard issue for troops in the both the German and Swiss armies. It originated from a group of blacksmiths in the Stubai Valley of Austria that
formed a cooperative in 1742 making metal tools and farm implements. The company was renamed to the Stubai Tooling Corporation in 1897.
