Pumper
Tonka Toys Inc., Mound, MN
1957
Charles M. Groschen helped design this pumper (firetruck that pumps water) which was used by the Mound Fire Department. This pumper can connect to any standard garden hose through its own miniature hydrant (excluded). The 1957 series is one of the only trucks that had a scoop hood feature and 1956 threaded fittings. Believed to be a transition truck. In 1956, the Suburban Pumper was voted “Outstanding Example of American Toy Production.”
