Television Table and Stand Hoffman Television ca 1954 Hoffman Television was a small manufacturer of televisions based in the Los Angeles area that made televisions from 1948 until 1977. The distinctive yellow-green tint of the screen is from the aviation plexiglass that Hoffman used as a safety barrier to prevent injury if the picture tube exploded. The tint was marketed as “easy vision” and was purported to be easier on the eyes.
