Dump Truck
1928-1930
Murry Ohio Mfg., Co., Cleveland, Oh.
Beginning 1919, Murry Mfg. Co. began manufacturing full-size trucks and cars. In 1923, Murry came up with the idea to use old scraps from cars and turn them into steel toys. They were known for making bicycles, airplanes, coaster wagons, lawnmowers, tractors, and of course, toy dump trucks. Many of these toys are marketed as “Steelcraft Wheel Goods.” Operating from 1919 to 1957, Murry’s toy trucks came with “movable steering wheel with a responsive axle,” along with “a fully operational lever to lift the bed of the truck.” This truck is a collectible with the class Mack body frame and sells for $500 - $750.
