220v ac, The toaster has a circular central heating element, four baskets for the bread form a square around the outside of the heating element. Rotating the top knob flips all four baskets around so that the other side of the bread is along side the heating element. An almost exact copy was sold in South Africa in 1955 by the Pineware company (it had a chrome top instead of the original aluminum.
