Electric Typewriter
Smith-Corona, Singapore
1968
This electric version of the Smith-Corona Super Sterling model features a switch that changes the force with which the keys strike the paper resulting in deeper or shallower imprints in the page. A harder strike with the key, and therefore a deeper imprint, would be used if the typist was using carbon paper to generate copies of the material. More force was needed to get the type to show clearly through the carbon sheet between the two pages.
