Mechanical Counter
GDR Hubbard, New Haven, CT
Circa 1880s
Elm City Counters were designed for industrial use in the textile or print making industries. These counters connected to a printing machine and served as a method of keeping track of completed work. As an item was completed, the lever triggered the number dial to roll over, keeping an accurate count of lots completed on a specific machine.
