Surveyor’s Light Mountain Transit W. & L.E. Gurley, Troy, NY 1906 These light-weight transits were designed for surveyors crossing difficult terrain. Brothers William and Lewis Gurley were both engineers who focused on improving the quality of the goods they were able to produce while reducing costs for customers.
