Electric Hygienic Machine Roche Electric Machine Co., Grand Rapids, MI Circa 1920 By passing an electrical current through the body, the Roche company claimed to be able to cure disease and resolve pain. Users of this machine attached a damp sponge to the hand-held wand and stood on the metal foot plates, moving the wand around the body to direct the current to the desired areas. Some versions included attachments for violet ray and ozone treatments.
