This television was part of the late ‘40s trend of “portable televisions.” The chassis was turned sideways and designed to resemble a piece of luggage. Despite the “portable” label, this model weighs almost 40 pounds and still has fairly fragile components. This was one of the more expensive portable models and was originally sold for $206.90 in 1948.
