Sextant Charles C. Hutchinson, Boston, MA Unknown Date Sextants are used to measure latitude and longitude while at sea by referencing the location of the sun, moon and stars. Charles C. Hutchinson sold a variety of navigational tools after buying out his former business partner at F.W. Lincoln and Company in 1883 and renamed the business Chas. C. Hutchinson Nautical Instruments.
