Jar or amphora with false neck, an octopus motif with coral, seaweed, and shell fillings can be seen. Cream glaze with brown-rust figures.

Context

Designs taken from nature are used predominantly in Minoan art. Like all Minoan art the style is two dimensional, and naturalistic elements are redesigned as flat images. The octopus is illustrative of the marine interests of island culture; such as fishing and trade.
