The rim is rounded with a mouth that is wide and funneled. The short neck tapers, slightly constricting at the junction with the gently rounding shoulders. The body is globular decorated with eleven horizontal wheel-cut lines and the base is concave. The vessel is intact with trace iridescence and a collection label to base.Use

This shape of vessel was very popular for holding wine and other liquids served at a table. Common flasks were made of greenish glass, appearing in the second half of the third century CE. This vessel also follows Isings form 104 B. Isings publications indicate that this vessel type was popular in the western provinces of the Roman Empire, however the form has also been found in the east. Although this form is indicative of the mid-third to fourth centuries, the forms continues to be seen throughout Late Antiquity.Made/Created
