Name/Title

Fear of Water

Description

Merging two art forms-figurative terra cotta shapes and exquisitely detailed story telling-Tim Taunton models ceramic narratives that "speak" to the viewer. In Fear of Water, a young swimmer is represented with goggles, his hair floats up from his scalp as if he had just thrust his body toward the ocean bottom. The boy's face reveals amazement as small fish brush against his chest and back and an ominous eel lies threateningly at his feet, the embodiment of fears and phobias of the unknown watery world.
