Making It On I-75

Name/Title

Making It On I-75

Description

Raised not more than twenty miles from the hometowns of Flannery O'Connor and Alice Walker, Betty Bivins Edwards continues in their tradition with her visually compelling views of Southern life, recorded not in print but sculptural relief. In I-75 she focuses on the imagery of the New South using the interstate and the nearby structures and signage as a satirical commentary on the rootlessness and ever-hurried lifestyle of the present age.
