Doloures

Description

This is a cylindrical jar with a flat base and applied, distorted rim. The surfaces are worked in swirls of black and beige and highlight the distorted bodies of four nude female figures the encircle the vessel and supply dramatic movement to the piece. Lori-Gene is an Atlanta artist best known for her two-dimensional work. This is an example of her creative work in clay. It represents another solid addition to the Museum's ceramic collections.
