This platter is taken from a body of work inspired by the 2010 words of Congressman John Lewis; a body of work that examines the history of the United States through the lens of the dinner table, wherein diverse perspectives and narratives of historical events are presented as a series of place settings and serving pieces. The larger exhibition ("We: American Voices") was on display at the MAS in 2020.
