Chinese drum. Drum made of canvas or oilskin stretched over a (presumably) wooden frame and tacked around the circumference. Drum is painted white and a turquoise dragon, painted on front/top is still visible. Chinese characters written on the side of the drum written on paper file.
According to its display caption this drum was 'probably used by Chinese on the Ballarat goldfields in the 19th century'.
