2021年“5·18国际博物馆日”之际《侨光异彩——藏品见证的侨史（第一辑）》正式出版。该书作为中国博物馆协会资助出版项目，是华侨博物馆专业委员会涉侨文物精品集萃系列图书之一，收录中国华侨历史博物馆、广东中国客家博物馆、广东华侨博物馆、华侨博物院、陈嘉庚纪念馆、泉州华侨历史博物馆、江门市博物馆等12家专委会成员单位的文物藏品近200件（套），藏品图片500余张。设计为六个章节：一、“跨海越洋 异域谋生”，二、“融通中外 互惠互利”，三、“守望相助 自成一体”，四“家国情怀 同仇敌忾”，五“志在报国 增进友好”，六、“传承传播 异域幻彩”。
华侨华人作为跨国移民，其最大的特征就是文化多元，最大的心理需求就是包容。该书旨在通过文物藏品的实证，讲述华侨故事、普及侨史知识、介绍华侨文化，同时也揭示华侨华人在世界各国除了谋生创业、经商致富以外，致力于多元平等、融合发展的奋斗历程。全书展现了百余年来华侨华人波澜壮阔的历史变迁、沿革脉络和发展趋势，以及所映射出的中外政治、经济、文化、社会等领域的交织、比较、差异、融合等种种面相，是目前国内首部全面系统梳理涉侨文物藏品精品的集大成之作，也是中国华侨历史博物馆自建馆至今，始终重视打造以纪念特刊、藏品图录、展览图录、学术研讨会论文集、社教科普读物为系统的文博出版体系，带动学术出版与业务工作相互助力共同提升的又一重要举措。
On the occasion of International Museum Day on May 18, 2021, the book "Glorious Overseas Chinese—Witnessing Overseas Chinese History Through Collections (Volume 1)" was officially published. As a publication project funded by the China Museums Association, this book is part of the series of curated volumes on overseas Chinese cultural relics by the Overseas Chinese Museums Professional Committee. It features nearly 200 items (sets) of cultural relics from 12 member institutions, including the China Overseas Chinese Museum, the Guangdong Hakka Museum, the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Museum, the Overseas Chinese Museum, the Chen Jiageng Memorial Hall, the Quanzhou Overseas Chinese History Museum, and the Jiangmen City Museum, with over 500 images of these relics.
As transnational immigrants, overseas Chinese are characterized by cultural diversity and have a strong psychological need for tolerance. This book aims to use cultural relics to tell the stories of overseas Chinese, popularize knowledge of overseas Chinese history, and introduce overseas Chinese culture. It also reveals the efforts of overseas Chinese in different countries not only in terms of making a living and business success but also in striving for multicultural equality and integration. The book showcases over a century of the dramatic historical changes, evolution, and development trends of overseas Chinese, as well as the interweaving, comparison, differences, and integration in various fields such as politics, economy, culture, and society. It is the first comprehensive work in China to systematically organize and present valuable cultural relics related to overseas Chinese. It represents a significant initiative by the China Overseas Chinese Museum, which has consistently focused on developing a comprehensive system of publications, including commemorative special editions, collection catalogs, exhibition catalogs, academic conference proceedings, and educational and popular science books, to promote mutual enhancement of academic publishing and museum work.Dimensions
