B/W photograph on a postcard. It is a view of homes on the west side of town along a cove. One of the homes may be the Crooks' mansion. There is a sail boat at anchor in th cove. On the lower front edge within the photograph is printed "A PRETTY RESIDENCE SPOT AT BENICIA, CALIF." In the lower left hand corner within the photograph is printed "FRANK J. STUMM, PUBL., BENICIA, CAL. No. 1917." In black ink at the bottom edge is written "One of the many beautiful spots in Benicia - A. V. C."
On the back is a message in black ink: "Dear Miss Foley. I was very sorry I did not see you before we left San Jose. I hope we'll see you before we leave - Fond Love Mrs A. B. Canelo" (the last three letters are blurred) A one cent postage stamped was used and the card is addressed to "Miss Nellie Foley. San Jose. California c/o The Colonial" The postmark shows only "Jul. 27 5:30P 1908 Cal."Collection
