Description

Album (14 pages) made by the students at St Catherine's for Archie Rice. Each page has an enlargement of one of Frank Stumm's postcards. This is only a copy of the original album which is at Stanford University Archives (item Misc 1173). The original album was done on leather and hand tied pages. Notes on the postcard are written on the side in ink. This may have been done after the original was made. The album was given to Stanford by Mrs Lucius G Norris of 12202 Skyline Blvd Oaklnad, CA. It may have been given to Stanford because that is where Archie Rice graduated. Archie Rice was a journalism student and he went on to write a book about the best schools using Alameda schools as his model. This album may have been made by St Catherine's students to influence his choice of which county schools to base his book on.
