This is a scrapbook/photo album of World War II news wire photos and news text of the war in the Pacific. It features some graphic photos of prisoners of war and soldiers wounded or killed in action. None of the photos will be uploaded to our online archive and will only be available on the Museum's computers.
The photos will be accessioned individually along with the original text supplied with the photo where it is still intact.
This page shows two photos. One shows an attack on a U.S. Carrier during the Marshall Islands raid. Two part photo of a plane on fire and of the carrier slipping beneath the waves. The second photo shows the Seabees constructing an airport on Bougainville Island.Collection
