Cardboard box for holding glass plates used in photography. The box is 5.5 x 8.5" and probably held 12 5 x 8 Dry Plate glass negatives. The manufacturer was M.A. Seed Company of Woodland, Mo. There is a number written on the outside "2". Inside are some yellow tissues used to separate the plates. They have some writting on them but it is too faded to read. The bottom has another number "4" written on the end. Written on the top is "Have been printed 1889 trip". Also, "Fish" and Darken".
On the side of the box is a stamp:
