This is a photo Frank McAllister who was the son of Cutler McAllister who is the brother of Col. Julian McAllister, commanding officer of the Benicia Arsenal. Frank McAllister was born in 1866 and died about 1950. The back is inscribed "To Hall from Frank". and dated April, 1881. He looks to be dressed in a militery uniform. May be a cadet uniform from St. Augustines.
The date is supported by the fact that the Morse studio was at 417 Montgomery from 1871 to 1881.Collection
