Description

A large 28" x 38" hanging banner representing the Benicia contingent of the Military Order of the Cootie (MOC). This local group was also known as the "Hoi Poli Club #329" and may have been known as the "Pup Tent #329". These organizations were related to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in some manner. The Cooties appear to have been both a social and functional organization. Life of the group is not know but this banner is dated August 26, 1947. The banner is hung from a wooden dowel and has some gold fringe and tassels. The design on the front appears to be machine embroidered. There are no markings on the back panel.
