Letter, and reply, sent to Illinois State Library, Sprimgfield from O. J. Wohlgemuth, Walnut Creek written in 1950. Information was sought concerning James Semple, father of Robert Semple. Details include tht James Semple was US Senator from Illinois plus other public service. One son, Robert, came to California and another, Eugene, was Governor of Washington Territory. The illinois Library was not able to provide further personal details about the family.
Mr Wohlgemuth was contributing chapters to a four volume history of Free Masonry in California which was published in 1950. The volumes are available for reference in the Benicia Public Library.Collection
