Scope and Content

File titled "Correspondence Semple" contains many pages. Letter from O. J. Wohlgemuth, Walnut Creek to California Investors Savings, Monterey, California requesting a copy of the first edition of "The Californian" which was the 'first newspaper ever published in California, by Dr. Robert Semple of Monterey'. Mr Wohlgemuth was contributing chapters to a four volume history of Free Masonry in California which was published in 1950. The volumes are available for reference in the Benicia Public Library.
