Scope and Content

File titled "Correspondence Semple" contains many pages. Letter sent from Library of Congress, Washington DC to O. J. Wohlgemuth, Walnut Creek written in 1950 and was a reply to a request of a copy of a letter supposedly written by John Armstrong that was an attack on the integrity and conduct of Thomas Larkin, then U.S. Gensul to California plus a letter written by Robert Semple. The Library of Congress letter gives sources where these can be found. Mr Wohlgemuth was contributing chapters to a four volume history of Free Masonry in California which was published in 1950. The volumes are available for reference in the Benicia Public Library.
