This is a copy/scan of an original daguerreotype in a case. The image is of the Frisbee / Walsh house within a few years of it being built. It shows the house with nothing around it and with several unidentified people in the yard and looking out the windows.
One of the earliest photographers in California was Fannie Vallejo Frisbie (1835 - 1905). She is reported to have experimented with daguerreotype photography as early as 1849. Since she lived in the Walsh house after she was married there is a possibility that this daguerreotype was taken by her.Collection
