Scope and Content

This is a deed for the Benicia Cemetery dated 06/01/1868. It is part of the activities to entitle people in Benicia to their own property after the Supreme Court decided the sales from General Vallejo related to the Soscol Ranch were invalid. This deed conveys the lots that make up the City Cemetery (blocks 114 and 115) to the Trustees of the Cemetery. The City Trustees are the party of the first part and are E.H. Von Pfister, James F. Swain, and Cornelius B. Houghton. The cost for this transaction was $27.60
