Description

B/W copy of a water color sketch from 1856, depicts the back of the Benicia Brewery, which was originally the California House - a hotel. Also attached is a copy of the original color sketch fround in the California State Library collection in Sacramento. Stamped on the back is "Lenoir Miller Collection", also written in Blue in is "Back of the Benicia Brewery 1856 picture. Was originally the California House, a hotel." in green ink: At the left is the Young Ladies Seminary on I Street, and the first protestant church in California, a Presbyterian Church with Sylvester Woodbridge as pastor." in red ink: "This is a copy of the original which was a water color sketch in 1856".
