This flag was stored in a wooden box in the attic of the Benicia City Council for many years. The box was inscribed:
Presented to City of Benicia by Benicia Centennial Committee for the preservation of centennial flags.

2. Replica of the National Ensign when Benicia was founded 19 of May 1847
In 2005 the Benicia Historical Museum was made aware of it's existence and history. This flag was flown over the Nation's Capitol on May 19, 1947 in celebration of Benicia's 100th birthday.
This flag is 8' x 12' and has 48 stars. The flag was made by Dettra Flag Co. of Oaks, PA.Collection
