This is a letter from Lucy Wetmore Gray on the East Coast to her husband Samuel C Gray in Benicia dated 08/18/1852. The letter talks of her travels with her son Eddie. Mainly it talks of his health and the problems she has encountered with him being exposed to various relatives that have been sick.
She says that she received the Daguerreotype that Samuel sent and thought it very good likeness. Eddie knew right away that it was Papa.
