This is a letter to Samuel C Gray from his uncle on his mother's side, Edward Powers (1793 - 1855). His uncle is offering Samuel a job in Columbus, GA. The job would be as a clerk keeping track of general stock of goods valued at $30 - $40,000 a year. It pays $200 a year plus board.
NOTE: Samuel gets his early training in accounts at his uncle's business. His Uncle is a very rich man in this area of Georgia and leaves several bequests to the City of Columbus.)Collection
