Description

This is a letter from Chauncy Wetmore in Benicia to his brother-in-law Samuel C Gray regarding the purchase of a house. Generally he is against buying a house and seems to favor buying a warehouse for their business. He also mentions the ship Edward Everett with a company of 150 miners headed to the gold fields. (This is only one of many companies that were formed to work the California gold fields in the 1849 Gold Rush.)
