This is a letter from Chauncy Wetmore in Benicia to his brother-in-law regarding the sale of stoves they have in their inventory. He also mentions the arrival of 50 vessels in SF Bay. This not only means a glut of goods but their was aproblem with ships being stuck in SF due to crews junping ship to head for the gold fields.
He alaso mentions in passing, the Old Shades Tavern, an early establishment in SF.Collection
