2025.12.1.77Description
This is a letter dated 12/11/1849 from Cornelia (Wetmore) to her father (Chauncy Wetmore 1790 - 1872) who is also Chauncy E Wetmore's father. She is writing from Middletown to San Francisco, CA. (Her father must have made the trip to California to see his sons Chauncy and Henry.) Cornellia mentions worry over Henry's health and some money that they have received (gold from California??)
The other side of the page is Cornellia writing to her sister, probably Lucy Wetmore Gray. She thanks her for the blue silk material and tells of making bonnets from it. She also talks of others in the household and the noise they are making.
