This is a letter dated 12/07/1851 from Harriet Gray Jones to her brother Samuel Gray regarding family matters. She tells Samuel how very cold it is but says it is better than the fleas in California. She comments on their visit from Mr and Mrs. Woodbridge and expects that they are home, in Benicia, or almost home by now. She mentions some event that happened to the ship "Challenge" and hopes that the Captain and Mate get what they deserve.
